Besides, for food packaging it represents an ideal compromise between price and barrier performance. Akulon® XP is a new polyamide 6 which offers exceptional productivity gains and profitability increase. It has an excellent processing behavior, which leads to profitability improvement at identical film properties. Indeed, its barrier properties are the same as classical PA6: its mechanical properties are comparable to classical PA6 and it exhibits an unchanged crystallization behavior. This high productivity PA6 is specifically designed for multi-layer film structures.
