High and Constant Mechanical Properties at Elevated Temperatures with PA46
PA46 Stanyl is the material of choice for gears used in harsh environments thanks to its ability to provide high and constant mechanical properties at elevated temperatures (up to 170°C).
As shown in this graph, PA46 delivers higher stiffness and a stable modulus above 130°C compared with PPA and PA66
Excellent Tribological Behavior with PA46
Thanks to its excellent tribological behavior, PA46 allows producing long lasting and robust parts, whatever the gear application is:
A plastic-to-plastic
A Plastic-to-metal
Compared to PPA, the wear depth at continuous loads of PA46 is reduced by 50 % (see graph)
High Fatigue Resistance with PA46
PA46 delivers a constant and high level of mechanical properties. Thanks to its very high resistance to fatigue, parts will show this performance under load over their complete lifetime.
The high fatigue resistance of gears made of PA46 is illustrated by the fatigue resistance test results below: Stanyl allows 25% higher stresses at the same number of cycles than PPA and PA66.
